INTRODUCING BIG TRAIL WIND
The Big Trail Wind project provides an opportunity to help address the growing electricity demand in Texas with clean, homegrown energy, while diversifying the economies of Schleicher, Sutton, Kimble, and Menard Counties, and supporting jobs in the local community.
Big Trail Wind will create jobs and generate an entirely new source of long-term revenue for local governments, businesses, and landowners. In the long term, the project promises to bring sustained tax revenue to the counties, as well as more than 30 years of local purchasing, employment, and investment.

AN ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY FOR SCHLEICHER, SUTTON, KIMBLE, AND MENARD COUNTIES
Big Trail Wind will create jobs and generate an entirely new source of long-term revenue for local schools, government services, and property owners. The total direct financial impact to the region will be in the tens of millions of dollars over the life of the project, with additional indirect economic benefits to the local economy.
Landowners participating in the wind project will receive annual lease payments. These payments will continue over the projected 30-year lifespan of the wind farm, injecting millions of dollars into the local economy to support local merchants, contractors, equipment suppliers, auto dealers, and others. The power from Big Trail Wind will be delivered into the Texas electrical grid, reducing the need to import electricity from outside markets.
